Given Morrigan is officially 30 years old and the book is set 30 years before Origins I think it is very possible for Maric to have slept with flemeth and fathered Morrigan. I Romanced Morrigan and she had my child and Alistair is on the throne so now that means Dante Cousland my warden and human noble is related not directly of course to Maric given dantes child would have Maric as a grandfather and alistair and cailan as an uncle, if this is true it means Alistair and Morrigan are half brother and sister, god thats a scary thought :P, no wonder they hate each other.
I have to admit if this is true it would make alot of sense. Flemeths whole reason for sending Morrigan with the Warden was for the dark ritual. But the wardens were banished from Ferelden since the Soldiers Peak incident, and Maric later as king pardoned the wardens and let them back in the country, with no real reason given. So maybe that was the promise, since Flemeth needed a warden for the ritual, and there were none in country for her to use I think you both need to go to the forum on Morrigan's child and read Grey Warden Marcin's comment on Morrigan and possible blood relations.
GW Marcin suspects that Morrigan is nobility and possibly Alistair's cousin. She might also have been arranged to wed the Cousland's second son, who is a GW now. Note that GW Marcin also speculated that it might be possible for the Cousland GW to become king and Morrigan queen, if they married and other things happen.
The only way Morrigan or Flemeth are related to the Couslands or Highever is that Flemeth came from Highever, and the Couslands became masters of Highever after it's preceding arl, a Howe, was slain by Flemeth. The remaining theories are truly too far fetched. IP no. If this is true, then its kind of gross that Morrigan and Alistair can totally get it on and make a child as part of the ritual.
That is assuming Flemeth is Morrigan's birth mother. Is it not possible she was "stolen"? Yes, if you get to be friends with Morrigan and converse with her about Flemeth, she will say something along the lines of "it was she who raised me". Converation options pop up about "what if you have family out there", but I've never followed them. She gets ticked at me too easily and before the feast day gifts, I never had a good way to earn that back, being a girl PC and all.
She is too educated. She was abused by an abomination "mother" to reject love. She was kept from people despite past lovers, possibly to avoid her discovering her roots. Flemeth's body or not: don't know. In Orzammar when you talk with the dwarf girl about her desire to go the Circle, she tells of a book that records the births of mage children.
This may be a weird question but what if Flemeth had a son then changed bodies when the son was older then married him. Would that be incest? I mean technically it wouldn't be but still feel really wrong at the same time. Because they like to make up ridiculous Morrigan theories. When one theory gets completely shot down they invent a new one to replace it.
Because it was confirmed that Hawke is not the "god baby" they're looking for a new way to glorify Morrigan even if the evidence is against it. Uh huh. People have been speculating that Maric is Morrigan's father ever since they read the novel and before DAO even came out. More topics from this board Equip elemental damage best?
